Soggy Campers

We were soaked through by the time for pick-up. Thank the Lord, no lightening  and we stayed dry till the last fifteen minutes.
Today my praying mantis egg hatched and the campers helped deliver the tiny insects all over the yard so they can find lots of harmful bugs to eat we hope.
I spent some time in the woods myself yesterday finding material for walking sticks.  A lot of kiddos enjoyed making their stick personal.

Now these guys, umm, they take their play times very seriously and can't be bothered with gussying up a stick.

 Ahh another forest friend.
 Let's look a bit closer.
Time to get to work, starting with Going on a Bear Hunt.  These repeated poem/song activities are good practice for listening.

While the boys are finding out what happened when the main character in the story encounters not one, but two bears, the Fairy Girls and Woodsprites are going through their physical training.  I wonder if any of the Fairy Girls or Woodsprites remember the new characters they met today in The Faraway Tree?
Something new. Where did that rope come from?  Is it elven rope?  A little rapelling
This is a great hand strengthening activity.

So, while that rain didn't move quite as far northeast as I had hoped, we had a good day all the same.  Let's pray we get a break in the rain tomorrow through the morning hours.
