So Long Summer

Our last Monday of our last week of camp dawned gray and gloomy and we dodged the rain all day, but still managed to have fun, read and write and learn a new poem.
Tuesday and today were beautiful and for our last two days we did more play than most days.
I've loved watching their creative imagination grow and grow.
All those pieces of the old VCR that was taken apart became various important items of technical equipment in what became an Eco Rangers game in the woods.
We started this morning with a rousing- This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.  And we did.
Snacks for the last day were s'mores and you need a fire.  We visited my friend Cedar Tree and pulled away some thin strips.
Next we visited Mr. Pine and gather dried pine needles.
We headed up the hill to learn all about starting fires.

Mrs. Paris got it done with only two matches.

Some of us disappeared back into the forest and our game while waiting our turn to cook over the fire.

 Yummo!

After that, we read our books we've been enjoying all summer. Next, a final trip to the creek.
Our parents joined us to see what all the fuss was about.  We found our letters to make words.

Had them join us for "Pass the Orbeez."

Lastly, we did our last Bear Hunt before going on our way.

So ended our six week summer adventure.  So very thankful to send all my little campers home unscathed by all the wiggly, woodsy, woolly things at camp.
Thank you Lord for so very many blessings.
